Austin Petersen – Honorary Chairman
Austin Petersen is a constitutional Libertarian who believes in economic freedom and personal liberty. Petersen’s passion for limited government led him to a job at the Libertarian National Committee in 2008, and then eventually to the Atlas Economic Research Foundation. After fighting for liberty in our nation’s capital, Petersen took a job as an associate producer for Judge Andrew Napolitano’s show FreedomWatch on the Fox Business Network. After the show’s cancellation, Austin returned to D.C. to work for the Tea Party institution FreedomWorks, and subsequently started his own business venture, Stonegait LLC, and a popular national news magazine The Libertarian Republic and viral content site Liberty Viral. Austin ran for Libertarian nomination for President in 2016.

Joe Trotter – Executive Director
After graduating from Cornell University with a Bachelors of Science in Earth Systems, concentration in Oceanography, Joe interned at the Cato Institute, where he helped edit the book Climate Coup. After Cato, he worked in and eventually headed up the communications department of the Center for Competitive Politics, a First Amendment focused nonprofit that deals with campaign finance related issues. Joe took a brief foray into the private sector as a public relations specialist for InfoSnap Inc. and then PowerSchool Group LLC, after which he returned to the world of politics and worked as Austin Petersen’s Communications Director in his bid for the 2016 Libertarian Party nomination for President. Joe has been published in National Review, the Washington Times, the Daily Caller, the Washington Examiner, and Frum Forum.

Zach Garretson – Donor Relations Officer
Zach Garretson is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He is a native of Detroit Michigan, who now resides in the Florida Panhandle. He is a small business owner, and a libertarian activist with the Northwest Florida Libertarian Party.

Rebekah Fiedler – Donor Relations Officer
Rebekah Fiedler is a Christian Libertarian living in the small town of Mexico, MO. She values life and liberty above all, and firmly believes that injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere. She is a legal secretary, childcare provider, wine enthusiast, and amateur singer, but her favorite title is “aunt.” She founded Liberty in Mexico, MO to advocate for personal liberties at the local level, and recently worked as a regional coordinator for Austin Petersen for President.
Darlene Underwood – Donor Relations Officer

Darlene Underwood is the Secretary for the Libertarian Party of Florida Highlands County affiliate. She is also the Region 10 Rep for the Libertarian Party of Florida; helping local counties form affiliations, and passionately encouraging people to get involved with the Libertarian Party. Darlene served as the Southern Region Director for Austin Petersen’s presidential campaign; organizing volunteers, and scheduling fundraisers & events. She now serves as the Colorado Director Gary’s Johnson’s presidential campaign; organizing volunteers, and is a Member of the Ladies For Liberty Tour throughout the State of Florida.

Trent Somes, III – Writing Fellow
Trent served as the Pennsylvania Coordinator for Austin Petersen during the 2016 LP Primaries. He is the cofounder and National Chair of the Libertarian Youth Caucus and the founder of Westmoreland County Libertarians. At the 2016 LP National Convention, Somes became the second youngest person in US history to be elected to A national party committee with 50 state ballot access (just a few months older than Jason Rae, of the DNC).

Matthew Geiger – Social Media Coordinator
Matthew Geiger is the Founder and CEO of the Libertarian news startup, 71 Additionally, he is the Chairman of the Carroll County Libertarian Committee, and the Vice Chairman of the Libertarian Youth Caucus. Matthew Geiger also consults and assists in the management of political campaigns across his region.
